Violinst Sydney Li-Jenkins
Sydney Li‑Jenkins is a rising young
violinist from Sausalito, California,
recognized for her artistry,
technical command, and
rapidly growing list of national
accolades. A student of Elbert Tsai
at the San Francisco Conservatory
of Music Pre‑College, she has been
performing since early childhood
and now appears regularly as a
soloist, chamber musician,and
competition laureate.
Sydney has soloed with multiple orchestras, including the Mill Valley Philharmonic,
Sonoma County Philharmonic, and the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra, earning praise for her poise and musical maturity. Her competition record is distinguished: she is a 2026 YoungArts Winner, 2025–2026 MTNA California State Winner (Senior Strings), and a national semifinalist in the 28th Sphinx Competition, one of the country’s most prestigious platforms for young string players.
She has also received top prizes from the Pacific Music Society, International Youth Music Competition, and the Korea‑American Music Supporters Association, along with honors such as the Black Violin Foundation Dreamers Award, Marin Music Chest scholarships (including the Alma Tomlinson Award and Robert Greenwood Award), and recognition at the Junior Bach Festival for three consecutive years.
Sydney is a founding member of the Onde Trio, which was featured on Episode 474 of NPR’s From the Top and named a semifinalist in the 2026 Coltman Chamber Music Competition and has reached the quarterfinals of the upcoming 2026 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. She also maintains an active presence in regional music communities while pursuing rigorous training at SFCM, where her Saturdays are filled with rehearsals, classes, and private instruction.
Currently a student at The Branson School, Sydney balances her academic life with a deep commitment to performance, continually expanding her repertoire and artistic voice.
